A short history of my background:

I retired from the United States Army in 2011 and began teaching at Alhambra. During my Army career I have served in a number of positions and duty assignments. I enlisted in the United States Army for the Airborne Infantry in 1991. I served in Germany, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. I then attended Officer Candidate School and was commissioned in the Armor Branch in 1994. After a few years at Fort Lewis, Washington and Fort Knox, Kentucky, I was transferred back to Germany and was assigned to the US Army, Europe, in the Anti-Terrorism branch. In that assignment, I helped coordinate security efforts at US Army bases throughout Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Hungary, Bosnia, Macedonia and Kosovo. I was then assigned to the Arizona Army National Guard as an Active Guard member. In addition to a deployment to Iraq, I served in numerous positions through the Arizona including the 258th Rear Area Operations Center, the Recruiting Command, the 215th Regional Training Academy, and the 158th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade.

I obtained a BA in Economics and Management from Albion College, Michigan in 1985 and a Master of Public Administration from Webster University in 2008.

After training Soldiers for most of the past 20 years, I now enjoy helping high school students learn the leadership skills that will make them successful during and after high school.  I want all high school students to get involved and have fun.

My wife, Laurie, and I have been married for over 25 years.  She is an Administrative Assistant.  We have two children.  Our daughter, Holly, is a kindergarten teacher in Colorado and our son, Campbell, is in the US Army.

The JROTC Office is normally open from 0600 to 1700. (In civilian terms, that is from 6 AM to 5 pm.)  Please contact me with any questions.
