    The Center for Computer Studies Magnet Program provides students opportunities to use state of the art computer hardware and software to acquire the skills needed for success in college and career, particularly in a technical or computer field.
    Students enrolled in the Center for Computer Studies will be given exceptional opportunities to utilize the latest computer hardware and software packages. A student’s strong interest in computers will be met with a curriculum that emphasizes problem solving skills, teamwork and creativity through the creation of original projects. This Magnet provides its graduates the skills needed for success in college, particularly in a technical or computer field, or employment after high school.

    Computer Fundamentals 1-2 This course is for beginners or students with little computer experience.

    This course is for students with some computer experience or with a desire to study computers. Dual enrollment available.
    This can also be a second-year course.

    Second Year Courses
     Computer Graphic Design 1-2 This course will teach students to use the computer as a design tool - create posters, logos, flash animation, web pages, etc.  Michael Marmolejo
    Advanced Media Imaging 1-2H This course will teach students elements of art by using PhotoShop and studying art history. Dual enrollment available. Fine Arts Credit     Michele Delgado
    Computer Science 3-4H This course continues in Computer Science, programming, and Software Engineering. Pre-requisite: CS 1-2H. Dual enrollment available.  Jill Jones
    Innovative Technologies 1-2 This course has a focus on teaching students the skills for working with robots. It follows the Vex Curriculum.

    Third Year Courses
    AP Computer Science A 1-2H This course prepares students for the AP Computer Science college board test. Students will learn Java and intermediate to advanced programming techniques. College credit given for passing the AP test.  Archana Chaudhari
    Multimedia Presentations 1-2H This course will have students create original animations using Adobe Flash and Adobe Premiere. Dual enrollment available. Fine Arts Credit    Michele Delgado
    Networking & Operating Systems 1-2H This course will teach students how to set up and manage a network system as well as learn about the three major operating systems. It will help students work toward A+ certification. Michael Marmolejo
    Fourth Year Courses
    Computer Science Senior Seminar 1-2H This course is for advanced students who have completed three or more computer courses. They will choose their own course of study, such as online computer college courses, preparing for A+ certification, or doing advancing graphic design.  Archana Chaudhari
