    Dear Students and Families,

Welcome to the Practical Program! I am excited to have the opportunity to get to know you and begin a new learning adventure together!  In this class we will focus on four curriculum areas this school year. They include,

Job Prep- This course designed to prepare students to participate in diverse work settings. Communication skills necessary for interviews and speaking with the public are practiced. Mature decision making and problem solving skills are stressed. Students develop a positive work ethic through positive classroom routines, independently and in collaboration with others.

Adult Survival 1/2- This course is designed to help students maximize their post-secondary independence. Students will engage in activities and instruction encompassing interpersonal skills, mature problem solving and functional academics. Students will begin to examine personal work ethics, realistic goal-setting and collaboration with peers.

Adult Survival 3/4  - This Course  is designed to help students maximize their post-secondary independence. Students will apply functional academics to activities such as completing common forms, following printed directions and understanding personal finance goals. Students will begin to explore options for independent living, travel, and recreation.

U.S./ AZ History Skills- This course focuses on the basic concepts of US and Arizona History as it pertains to everyday life and experiences. The students will learn how historical events impacted our evolution as a country, as well as current events.
