About Me

I was born and raised In Munster, Indiana (located 30 min outside of downtown Chicago).  I attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN and received a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary English Education (2003). While at Purdue I was in the marching band, and played on the Women’s Rugby team. Following my time as a student at Purdue I spent 8 summers as the acting director of the Boiler Kids Camp (2003-2010). My first teaching job took me to Indianapolis, where I taught for 3 years in Fishers, IN.

In 2006, I moved to Scottsdale, AZ where I accepted a job teaching English and Service Learning at Desert Mountain High School. While at Desert Mountain High School I coached Freshman Volleyball and JV Softball.  In 2010, I transferred to Arcadia High School (also in the Scottsdale District) where I taught 10thgrade English, Service Learning, and AVID. I was the AVID site coordinator, as well as a co direct of the SUSD Unitown program. In addition to my work at the high school level, I was the Athletic Director at Supai Middle School for 5 years.

Today, being a part of Phoenix Union and Central High School has been fantastic.  Working with all of my freshman classes is a fun and exciting opportunity I look forward to every day. I am the JV volleyball coach and an assistant track coach...GO BOBCATS!!!!! Most recently I completed my master in Educational Leadership at Grand Canyon University in April of 2016.

In my free time I like to spend time with my family (including my 4 year old Great Dane Rajski, and 2 year old Lab/Shepard mix Gus) traveling around the US and Europe, mountain biking, hiking, attending concerts and the theater, as well as all local sporting events.  My favorite time of year in the valley is the Cactus League Spring Training season (when the Chicago White Sox are in town)…GO Sox!!!
