Working at South is exciting as I get to work with amazing people. I interact with the entire staff, incorporating strategies that increase student achievement. Together we implement interventions that improve student learning as well as follow the Kids at Hope Framework that impacts the lives of our students and colleagues. Professional Development is rewarding for everyone: certified, classified, administrative and the students!
I previously taught Spanish at Cesar Chavez High School for 17 years, and served as Senior Portfolio Show Creator/Coordinator, School Improvement Chairperson, Instructional Leader, PLC Leader, worked with Elevate Phoenix and the Peer Leadership Program, and worked in professional development. I was the Cesar Chavez High School Teacher of the Year in 2005 and 2011, and nominated for the Arizona Teacher of the Year for 2008 and 2010.
