Subjects / Classes Taught: Economics I, Honors Economics, AP Economics
Degree(s): BS in Finance from Boston College, MBA from Northeastern University
Thank you for stopping by my homepage! This is my eighth year teaching Economics at Cesar Chavez High School. Prior to my stop here, I held a number of jobs in both the finance and accounting industries, with the majority of my professional experience under the employ of Citigroup in Boston as a hedge fund administrator. In this course, I will combine real world experiences with academic models to emphasize the importance of understanding economics in an increasingly complex globalized world. This course is a challenging and rigorous exploration of economic concepts that prepares students for the educational experience they will encounter after completion of their high school degree. Ultimately, it is my goal that this course will successfully transition students from the high school to the university classroom.
For the 2018-2019 Fall Semester, Cesar Chavez High School will be offering four sections of Honors Economics and one section of AP Economics. AP is a full-year course where students will take a semester of AP Macro in the Fall and a semester of AP Micro in the Spring. Since there is only one section of AP, I will also provide tutoring to any student who is not able to take the AP class, but wishes to take either or both exams in the Spring. For those students who are interested, we will meet on Thursdays during the Advisory Period (10:20 - 11:00) to supplement the Honors Curriculum with content specifically geared toward passing this challenging exam. I am confident that those students who make a sincere commitment will undoubtedly be successful in May. Come join us and we will beat this exam together!
