    Hello and Welcome to my webpage!  I have been teaching in Phoenix Union High School District since 1999 and have taught freshmen and sophomores, mainstream, honors and IB. I work to instill the love of learning for my students through Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization and Reading.  I believe all learners must be engaged to be successful and this is my goal every day in my classroom.

    Textbook: McDougal Littell for Sophomores and Freshmen
     
    Curriculum: Based on Common Core Standards with a focus on World  and American Literature.  We will be studying Latin American, Asian, African, Russian and European authors and topics in my sophomore classes.  The students will read several novels, do a wide assortment of essays and engage in cooperative speaking and listening activities.  They will also do a research project in each term of their sophomore year.  I will honor your child's right to an engaging and safe environment for learning.
