Judy Basham has served as Teacher on Assignment at PUHSD (Native American Education Specialist) for 5 years, after serving as an ELL instructor for three years. She coordinates both the Title VII and Johnson O’Malley federal grant programs. These programs provide schools with supplemental funds aimed at improving the success of Native American students. She also promotes cross-cultural awareness among teachers. Her first Master’s degree was in bilingual/bicultural education, and she has taught a variety of subjects over the last 25 years, including history and social studies at the K-12 level, primarily at Native schools across the country. She also taught at the university level in teacher education. Her second Master’s degree is in Educational Leadership.
