Craig PletenikCommunity Relations Manager
Craig Pletenik has headed up the Communications Department since 2002, overseeing media and public relations, publications, marketing and special events. He has a background in professional sports, marketing, television, radio and public relations. Pletenik came to the District from the Arizona Lottery, where he was an assistant sales director. He was the first Community Relations Director for the Arizona Diamondbacks and prior to that, served as Vice President and General Manager of the Phoenix Firebirds, a minor league baseball club, from 1991-1997. Pletenik came to Arizona from Lubbock, Texas where he was a television sportscaster, a radio news and sportscaster and a sports information director at Texas Tech University. He has a B.A. in Communication Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles. He is married to a school administrator, has two children and resides in Phoenix.
