Kevin Weingartner is the Director of Bands and Music Technology at Central High School in Phoenix, Arizona. Mr. Weingartner first earned his Associate of Applied Science degree in Audio Production Technologies from Mesa Community College in December of 2013, where he learned the foundations of recording studio techniques, live sound production, and electronic music production. During his time at MCC, Mr. Weingartner also took the time to develop his musical skills on the trumpet, playing under the batons of Dr. Robert Hunter, Mr. Paul Brewer, and Mr. Nathan Johnston. During this time, Mr. Weingartner also studied privately with the Assistant Principal Trumpet of the Phoenix Symphony, Mr. Emery Harvison, who also acted as coach for several small ensembles with whom Mr. Weingartner participated. Upon completion of his studies at MCC, Kevin began attending Arizona State University in the Fall of 2014, where he graduated with his Bachelor of Music Education degree in August of 2018. At ASU, Kevin studied trumpet with Mr. Garrett Klein, Mr. Josh Haake, and Ms. Brianne Borden, while performing in ensembles under the batons of Professor Gary Hill, Dr. Wayne Bailey, and Dr. Jason Caslor.
In addition to his responsibilities as a music teacher at Central, Mr. Weingartner works as a freelance musician, providing trumpet performance opportunities in solo and small ensemble settings. Mr. Weingartner also works as a DJ and audio specialist, providing recording services for musicians, and Digital DJ services for wedding receptions and other private events.
Mr. Weingartner enjoys his freetime outside of work with his handsome pup, BB, and his beautiful fiancee, Ms. Jaimi Henline, whom he will be marrying in October 2019!
