  • Welcome to Central!

I currently teach both Intermediate English as a Second Language (INT ELA1-2) and ESL Academic Reading 1-2. I am very excited to share the school year with you.

This is my fifth year teaching at Central High School, and my 16th year as an educator in Arizona. I have a Master's degree (M.Ed) in Bilingual and Multicultural Education from Northern Arizona University and a Bachelor's (BA) in Interdisciplinary Studies (emphasis on Humanities, Mexican-American Studies, and Studio Art) from the University of Arizona. I hold certificates in K-12 Art Education, English, ESL, and Reading.

I am first generation American; both of my parents are from other countries. I am the first in my family to graduate from college and to obtain an advanced degree. I have been self-supporting since a young age, and put myself through college. I believe these experiences have been great teachers, as they have helped me understand many challenges that my students face. I will do my utmost to support your educational goals and to support your academic achievement at Central.

If you need to reach me, email is best:

I am not able to take phone calls during instructional hours, but you may leave a message and I will return your call as soon as I am able: 602-764-7500 extension 47699.

I am also available to meet before school and after school.

    My office hours are:

    7:30am-8:00am & 3:00pm-3:30pm, Monday through Friday, in room 121.

I wish all of my students and their families the best in the 2019-2020 school year.
