    Brian Fair is a native of Phoenix, Arizona (South Phoenix), and graduate of South Mountain High School. He was a four-year starter in Football and Basketball at South Mountain and earned Player of the Year Honors in 1991 in Basketball for the State of Arizona. He went on to have a successful collegiate career  playing for Hall of Fame Coach Jim Calhoun at The University of Connecticut.

    While at Connecticut he earned All Big East Freshman Honors, Most games played in career, Most three pointers in a game and capturing two Big East Conference Titles. After playing at Connecticut he played with the Dallas Mavericks appearing in 8 games. He went on to play professional basketball in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) and oversees in Taiwan, Netherlands and Venezuela.

    After playing professionally oversees he began coaching at Chandler Gilbert Community College and coached in The Phoenix Union High School District (PUHSD) at Central High, Carl Hayden, Maryvale and South Mountain for the following sports: Basketball, Football, and Softball.

    Brian returned to South Mountain as a teacher and coach in 2006 and had his most successful year in 2009, taking the boys basketball team to the semifinals. In the 2011 school year he took on the role as an Administrator at Betty Fairfax and returned to South Mountain in the 2013 school year as an Assistant Principal and Athletic Director, affording him the opportunity to give back to the South Phoenix Community he was raised in.

    Brian has been married to his beautiful wife Maisha for over 18 years and has three children: sons DaMario 24, Brian Jr. 15 (Currently attending South Mountain) and daughter Raelynn 18 (South Mountain graduate).  All three have excelled in their own rights in athletics, DaMario in football, Brian Jr. In football & track and Raelynn in Track & Field.

    Brian holds a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Connecticut and a Master's Degree from Grand Canyon University.
