• Filliater

    Filliater has been with the District for all but four years of her teaching career, with stints at Camelback, Carl Hayden and Cesar Chavez in addition to Metro Tech.  She was Metro Tech’s Teacher of the Year in 2008, reflecting the improved math scores at the school.   


    Adams has come full circle in a very short time, going from a student at Phoenix Union, to earning her National Board Certification in only six years of teaching.  Adams attended South Mountain and Alhambra before receiving her education degree at ASU West.   Adams is the advisor of the “Be a Leader” club at Maryvale, where 130 students focus on college preparation, leadership development and community service.   

     Chapman took a year off before medical school to teach elementary school, and he was hooked.  The Santa Barbara, California native has taught for 13 years, seven at Phoenix Union, and this year moved to Bioscience High School, the math and science-themed small school.  His educational background fits with the school, as he holds a BioEngineering degree from UC-San Diego and a Masters in Public Health-Epidemiology from University of Arizona.  Chapman teaches physics, algebra, and geometry and is the school’s gifted students coordinator.


    daley Daley began her teaching career 10 years ago, when Cesar Chavez opened its doors.  Now the Performing Arts Instructional Leader at Chavez, she teaches choir and piano and sponsors the National Honor Society.  Her choirs consistently receive Excellent and Superior ratings at both state and national competitions.  Daley earned Choral Music Education degrees from Furman University and ASU before coming to Chavez.
