Betty H. Fairfax High School is Phoenix Union’s newest comprehensive high school, having opened in 2007, and graduating its first senior class in spring 2011. Named after a Phoenix teacher, guidance counselor and civil rights activist, who inspired and motivated students over a 57-year career. The school has followed in Betty's footsteps, building a foundation of excellence.
A brand new Phoenix Union Handbook for Students and Families will be approved and in use for the 2019-20 school year. This colorful, informative book is not just discipline procedures and policy. It introduces parents to programs and services, such as ELL, ESS, Food and Nutrition, Student and Family Services, School Safety, and Transportation. It also presents a District-wide dress code, attendance policy, student expectations, and restorative practices at school and at home.
The Handbook Committee invites our stakeholders- staff, students, parents, and community to three forums, Monday, April 29 at three regional locations-Central, Alhambra and Betty Fairfax from 5:30 to 7 p.m. to share the changes and gather input.
