Local restaurant, St. Francis, has three PUHSD graduates. Sous Chef, Miguel Vasquez, is a graduate of Metro Tech's Culinary Program.
Some Metro Tech culinary students read a story in the New York Times about a chef in Phoenix. One of the students recognized him, because his mother works at the same restaurant, St. Francis. His name is Suny Santana, and the class invited him to come to Metro and speak to the students. Turns out, Santana is a graduate of Central High School. His sous chef, Francisco Cruz, is also from Central, and Santana’s other sous chef, Miguel Vazquez is a graduate of Metro Tech’s culinary program. The St. Francis restaurant is located at 111 E. Central.
