At Central's Homecoming pep rally on September 2 the Diamondbacks Honor Roll program was introduced.  D-backs President and CEO Derrick Hall and Dr. Bill Pepicello, President of University of Phoenix were special guests. The Honor Roll consists of game vouchers, which principal Chris Jones will award throughout the year for perfect attendance, good grades, sportsmanship, leadership, mentoring, strong character and other milestones. The Diamondbacks will also offer passes to staff to reward them for their hard work. Central is just one of 10 schools that will participate in the program that includes middle and high schools. Alhambra and Carl Hayden in the Phoenix Union High School District will also be part of the program, which will offer up to 30,000 tickets, good for next year's season.
