Academics help to provide students at Desiderata with knowledge of the world around them. We help to provide students with information to read and write, use math in every day life, learn from their history (and the history of other cultures and civilizations), learn about the world around them and their own environment, and what active lifestyles can do to improve their health and well being.
In the academic process, we also help teach them tolerance, patience, interpersonal skills, task completion skills, how to deal with their emotions and behaviors, how to value other's perspectives and opinions, respect, integrity, and ethics. We help to teach them real world expectations, and how to use their skills to be successful after high school.
Your student's case manager, social worker, counselor, and adminstration all work together to help decide which classes help your student complete their graduation requirements.
